Bradley Residence

Mr. Bradley lost his house in Hurricane Ida and the firm covering his house basically totaled it. He asked if I could design him a house and I obliged. I told him if I did it, I'd like it to look like a "Period" house - he agreed and said he'd prefer that - the one he lost was a period house on the river. To qualify, it had to be under a certain budget, under1500 ft² and a 3 bed/2 bath. We did 8' ceilings to keep the cost down so we could splurge in other areas like the facade. It's pretty difficult to get a house to look "Period" with 8' ceilings, but there are a few tricks that can be deployed. House is on a slab(again to keep cost down) but the front porch is raised to look like it's off the ground. It's also more square shaped to reduce costs as well (more to come on that later). It was challenging to say the least - to get all of that in one package, but I think we pulled it off. Cost didn't cover garage or carport, but that can be added of course.
