Going back to the 1840's, Louis Chauvin Sr. designed & built the Pape Vert (Pronounced Pop Vair), a gambling and dance hall for steamship passengers traveling the Mississippi.  Louis also meticulously added onto & transformed a very early-built Acadian cottage to a French Creole "Gem" of a home a few blocks away, that Spencer Chauvin currently lives in and is in the process of restoring himself.  Adding on to 6 generations of Master Builders, Architects, and General Contracting/Construction, Spencer is continuing the legacy of his family's passion. Along with some of the same tools passed down from Louis, trade secrets and decades of institutional knowledge have been shared through the generations.
